The XIV Caribbean Islands Swimming
Championships 2002
The Netherlands Antilles Swimming Federation was assigned by the
C.C.C.A.N. to host the Caribbean Islands Swimming Championships 2002. The
competitions took place July 1st to July 9th, on the island of
Curaçao. Over 500 athletes and delegates from 14 Caribbean countries
competed during these championships.
Competitions, disciplines and venues
The competitions were held in three disciplines; swimming, water polo and
synchronized swimming.
The swimming competitions took place at Ergilio Hato, Sentro Deportivo
Kòrsou, Brievengat; the water polo competitions at Pisina Benny Leito,
Otrabanda; and synchronized swimming at S.O.V. Asiento swimming pool at
Emmastad.

Aruba - Bahamas - Barbados - Bermuda - Grenada - Guadeloupe - Jamaica -
Puerto Rico - Dominican Republic - St. Lucia - Surinam - Trinidad and
Tobago - U.S. Virgin Islands - and the hosting country Netherlands
Antilles.
Accommodations
The games mainVillage was the Holiday Beach Hotel & Casino. The two other
hotels where the athletes and delegates were accommodated were;
Marriott Beach Resort & Emerald Casino and Howard Johnson Hotel at
Otrabanda.
